This RIDGLOK® Vertical Standing Seam Panel Insulation System was installed on a storage tank located in St. Paul Park, MN.
The welded tank was utilized to hold water for fire protection. The tank was a 150’ diameter x 51.75’ high welded tank. The project was completed on May 10, 2016.
The RIDGLOK® Insulated Panel System consisted of 26 gauge Galvalume jacketing in black laminated to 3.0” of polyisocyanurate insulation board with an R-value of 20.3 using a cone roof design.
The RIDGLOK® Vertical Standing Seam Panel Insulation system is used for freeze protection in fire protection tanks. The panels can be applied to all types of tanks, including flat bolted, chimed bolted, glass lined, fiberglass, welded, stainless steel and concrete. The tank does not need to be taken out of service to install the system. Insulating fire protection tanks with RIDGLOK® Vertical Standing Seam Insulation provides energy savings by reducing the amount of electricity needed to heat the tank.
