Stop & Shop began in 1914 as a family owned corner grocery and has grown to over 375 stores throughout New England, New York, & New Jersey.

This RIDGLOK® Vertical Standing Seam Panel Insulation System was installed on a storage tank for Stop & Shop located in Assonet, MA. The tank was utilized to store water for fire protection at this site.

The RIDGLOK® Vertical Standing Seam Panel Insulation system is used for freeze protection in fire protection tanks. The panels can be applied to all types of tanks, including flat bolted, chimed bolted, glass lined, fiberglass, welded, stainless steel and concrete. The tank does not need to be taken out of service to install the system. Insulating fire protection tanks with RIDGLOK® Vertical Standing Seam Insulation provides energy savings by reducing the amount of electricity needed to heat the tank.

The tank measured 26.74’ diameter x 40.02’ high. The project was completed on December 21, 2015 despite the cold and windy weather conditions.

The RIDGLOK® Insulated Panel System consisted of 0.024 stucco-embossed aluminum metal jacketing in White laminated to 2.0” of polyisocyanurate insulation board with an R-value of 13.1 using a straight cone roof design.
