First Park 33 is a new retail development site totaling approximately 11 acres located centrally to the fast growing municipalities of Palmer, Forks, & Lower Nazareth Townships.
The facility had a newly constructed Fire Water Ground Storage Tank that required insulation for freeze protection.
The RIDGLOK® Vertical Standing Seam Panel Insulation System was installed on the Fire Protection Tank in early November and was completed in just over a week despite rain and windy conditions. The site superintendent reported that all work was completed satisfactorily and that he would recommend both the crew and the RIDGLOK® Panel System to others.
The 29’ diameter x 32’ high welded tank was utilized to hold firewater for the retail facility. The project was completed on 11/16/2015.
The RIDGLOK® Insulated Panel System consisted of 0.024 stucco-embossed aluminum metal jacketing in Fawn laminated to 1.5” of polyisocyanurate insulation board using a Cone roof system.
RIDGLOK® Insulated Panel Systems are utilized for freeze protection on fire water supply for wet sprinkler systems. Fire protection water storage tanks that are in colder regions are required to have tank heaters and permitted to be insulated to CONSERVE energy per NFPA 22 codes section 16.1-16.5. The panels can be applied to all types of tanks, including flat bolted, chimed bolted, glass lined, fiberglass, welded, stainless steel and concrete. The tank does not need to be taken out of service to install the system. Insulating fire protection tanks with RIDGLOK® Vertical Standing Seam Insulation provides energy savings by reducing the amount of electricity needed to heat the tank.
