MC&I designed, manufactured, and installed the RIDGLOK® Vertical Standing Seam Insulated Panel System on a fire protection ground storage tank for the automotive industry, located in Moses Lake, WA.
Details of the state-of-the-art carbon fiber production plant flat bolted fire protection storage tank insulation project for SGL Automotive Carbon Fibers can be read about by clicking on this link:
The fire protection storage tank was a 41.59′ diameter x 31.32′ high flat bolted tank. The tank insulation project was completed in March 2011.
The RIDGLOK® Vertical Standing Seam Insulated Panel System consisted of 0.024 stucco-embossed aluminum metal jacketing, in White color, laminated to 2″ polyisocyanurate insulation board (R-value of 13.1), using a straight panel roof system.
The RIDGLOK® Vertical Standing Seam Insulated Panel System is used for freeze protection in fire protection storage tanks. The insulation panels can be applied to all types of tanks, including flat bolted, chimed bolted, glass-lined, fiberglass, welded, stainless steel, and concrete. The storage tank does not need to be taken out of service to install the system. Insulating fire protection storage tanks with RIDGLOK® Vertical Standing Seam Insulated Panel System provides energy savings by reducing the amount of electricity needed to heat the tank.
