This RIDGLOK® Vertical Standing Seam Panel Insulation System was installed on a storage tank located in Jonestown, PA. The flat bolted tank was utilized to store water for fire protection.
The tank measured 32.68’ in diameter x 25.52’ in height. The project was completed on February 25, 2016, on schedule despite the frigid winter weather.

The RIDGLOK® Insulated Panel System consisted of 0.024 stucco-embossed aluminum metal jacketing in grey laminated to 2.0” of polyisocyanurate insulation board with an R-value of 13.1 using a cone roof design.
The RIDGLOK® Vertical Standing Seam Panel Insulation system is used for freeze protection in fire protection tanks. The panels can be applied to all types of tanks, including flat bolted, chimed bolted, glass-lined, fiberglass, welded, stainless steel, and concrete. The tank does not need to be taken out of service to install the system. Insulating fire protection tanks with RIDGLOK® Vertical Standing Seam Insulation provides energy savings by reducing the amount of electricity needed to heat the tank.
