Project Overview – Holmes Cheese
MC&I designed, manufactured, and installed the RIDGLOK® Vertical Standing Seam Insulated Panel System on a box-shaped digester ground storage tank located at Holmes Cheese in Millersburg, OH.

The wastewater treatment storage tank was a 14′ deep x 34′ long x 20′ high box-shaped digester tank with a perimeter guardrail. The digester insulation project was completed in May of 2010.
The RIDGLOK® Vertical Standing Seam Insulated Panel System consisted of 0.024 stucco-embossed aluminum metal jacketing, in Fawn color, laminated to 2″ polyisocyanurate insulation board (R-value of 13). The roof was not insulated.
Anaerobic Digester Tanks
As reported by www.veoliawatertech.com on 01/21/2012, “The system will use anaerobic digestion to reduce BOD and produce valuable biogas that will be used to reduce the plant’s energy costs.”
Anaerobic digesters are specially designed and insulated tanks that are used to facilitate the anaerobic digestion process under a controlled atmosphere. This is to achieve maximum biogas production in a short period of time.
