Project Details – General Motors (Spring Hill, TN)
MC&I designed, manufactured, and installed the RIDGLOK® Vertical Standing Seam Panel Insulation System on a fire protection tank located at the General Motors facility in Spring Hill, TN.
The fire protection tank was a 25.17′ diameter x 23.84′ high bolted tank with 1 web truss. The insulation project was completed on August 21, 2013.
The RIDGLOK® Vertical Standing Seam Insulated Panel System consisted of 0.024 stucco-embossed aluminum metal jacketing, in grey, laminated to 2.0″ polyisocyanurate insulation board with a R-value of 13.1, using a radial roof insulation system.
Why Choose RIDGLOK®?
The RIDGLOK® Vertical Standing Seam Panel Insulation System is used for freeze protection in fire protection tanks. The panels can be applied to all types of tanks, including flat bolted, chimed bolted, glass-lined, fiberglass, welded, stainless steel, and concrete. The fire protection tank does not need to be taken out of service to install the system. Insulating fire protection tanks with RIDGLOK® Vertical Standing Seam Insulation provides energy savings by reducing the amount of electricity needed to heat the water tank.
